Synopsis



Rimades, humiliations and tragedies, the Makhaya are among the many families that suffered injustices inflicted on Blacks during Apartheid. Deputy Director of the Central Library of Port Elizabeth, Sipho, this family man, hopes that the end of these atrocities and the transition to a new policy in South Africa will enable him to run the institution in which he has always worked. Her daughter, Thando, who lives with him, attends the Truth and Reconciliation Commission debates where she works as an interpreter. She would like to know more about her brother's murder. They welcome Sipho's niece who brings back the body of her father, who died in London. He was a great figure in the anti-apartheid struggle. John Kani is a famous South African actor. He was the performer on the stage of the play Nothing but the truth - of which he is also the author - before adapting it for the big screen.
