Synopsis



A thick fog has been falling for several days, on a small village on the south coast of Senegal, preventing pirogues from going to sea. The old village marabout is dying and cannot officiate. His 20-year-old son, Mbanik, must defy the spirits for him. When the fog disappears, the young Mbanik wins the recognition of the villagers and conquers the heart of Maxoye, a young girl from the village. But these successes arouse the jealousy of Yatma, his childhood friend...
