The Professional

Synopsis

Leon is a formidable and elusive professional killer. He lives alone in New York with his green plant and his habits until the day Mathilda, a twelve-year-old girl, rings the doorbell and enters his life. Indeed, Leon lives in the Little Italy district of New York. This "conscientious" and illiterate killer lives not far from little Mathilda. The teenage girl's father, a drug dealer, was threatened one day by Stansfield, a psychopathic inspector from the drug squad. The next day, Stansfield returns and passes the whole family through the arms, except Mathilda, who has found refuge with Leon. Against all odds, the killer allows himself to be tamed by the bird. They make a pact: each one will teach the other what he knows. Léon will learn to read and write and Mathilda to kill ....
